International Tourism Board (ITB) 2014: Another Successful Year For Burundi
In the category of Best Exhibitor Award (BEA) Burundi was ranked second in Africa at the ITB's March 2014 convention in Berlin. Burundi’s stand was prized for its originality.
Visitors were welcomed by drummers and traditional dancersand had the opportunity to taste Burundi’s unique coffee and tea as well as our famous Honey Beer commonly known as "AKUKI." Brochures containing useful information on Burundi were generously distributed on the spot, and visitors left the stand with water from the Most Southern Source of the Nile.
Many Burundian public and private organizations took part in the event such as:
The Hospitality and Tourism Sector,
The Regulatory Coffee Authority for Burundi (ARFIC),
Burundi Tea Office (OTB),
Tour Operators,
The Agency for Promotion and Investment in Burundi (API), etc.
The Burundian delegation was led by Mrs. Marie-Rose Nizigiyimanathe, Minister of Commerce, Industry, Posts and Tourism.
