Rally in Bujumbura after 27 years
Bujumbura, the capital city of Burundi, hosted this Sunday 13th, 2014 a rally car race which drew a large public. The race was organized by the Automobile Club of Burundi in collaboration with the Tanganyika Motors Sport association.
Different companies operating in Burundi such as PIRELLI, SOCAR Insurance and SPIDER NET were represented as well as the Café Gourmand, the leading coffee house in Bujumbura with exhibition stands largely promoting their visibility. Other activities included live music, selling of beverages and delicious croissants. As large multicultural crowd surrounded the short racing circuit as the car engines rowed, raising excitement of the spectators.
High ranked authorities within the Government of Burundi were not left out. Mr. Adolphe Rukenkanya, the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports was not only present, he was also waving the starting flag before each take off of the contestants and he even got test his driving skills as he toured the circuit in a go-kart.
There was an exciting atmosphere as kids and adults, all were crazy witnessed the amazing driving talent of the pilots while drinking some of refreshing lemonade and beer offered by BRARUDI, Burundi’s leading brewery.
